![]() Kyung-Sang Kwak, a former officer in the South Korean army and recently arrived immigrant to Canada is playing ball with Desmond. Kyung-Sang, who said I can call him James, does not have any friends yet, but he figured that playing ball is a good way to get to know his neighbours and improve his English. The funny thing was that while he and Desmond played, two South End kids played their own game, so Desmond's and Kyung-Sang’s game turned into a strange mix of basketball obstacle course. Susan has an interesting portrait made on a Polaroid 665 film. First time I saw 665 film was actually just recently in Bosnia when I met Lionel Charrier working on a series of portraits. Lionel is a French photographer who works for Libération and is a member of Myop co-operative. We shared a glass of a good Pinot in Sarajevo. If you click on his name and then on Sarajevo 10 ans après you’ll be able to see his 665 work. The pairs of photographs were taken 10 years apart. New York Magazine has a long, but very interesting story on what it’s like to work in Iraq today as a journalist. | |
