![]() So Nikon’s done it. D3 is one amazing piece of technology and I am very pleased they proved wrong all the doubting Thomas out there. I am also very pleased that I did not invest in DX lenses :))) It’s all the camera you could possibly want as a daily PJ and then some. If you need more megapixels wait a bit for D3X or use medium format. What I want though is something quite different. I want a D3 sensor in an FE body. No bells and whistles. Flash TTL would be nice, decent LCD, but it does not need to be huge, center weighted metering, keep the rest of controls as is. It would be simple, it would create amazing files and and it would not weigh a ton. It would cost less, too. It’s also, probably, impossible. This is a photo from my little architectural photography experiment with Saint John High as a subject. The previous shots were digital and you can see them here, here and here. this one was shot on Kodak TMZ (3200 ISO) and developed in D76. This is the south wall of the building.
