Harry Gruyaert, science stories

I really like Harry Gruyaert’s photographs in this slideshow. Enjoy it.

I wonder if there is some unspoken rule within most newspapers that prevents them from publishing fun science stories just for the heck of it. Virtually every daily in Canada is located in a city with a university, but you rarely see a science story done by a staff reporter. Here is some science newspaper writing:
From International Herald Tribune a piece on walruses.
And here is a New York Times piece on aging brains.
Toronto Star has a piece on nanoparticles seeping into the environment and our bodies.
And Christian Science Monitor has a piece on Bruce Odland, an ambient noise artist.

The girls walking down the King Street East.

Croatian word of the day: znanost science
