![]() It’s breakfast time on Atlantic Spruce and the captain and the chief engineer are busy in the kitchen. The tug has a small crew, only three people: captain, chief engineer and seaman. The kitchen is nice and spacious. In fact it is MUCH bigger than the kitchen we had in one of our Saint John apartments. Well designed, too, with all sorts of safeguards to prevent accidents and broken dishes. The fare was pretty good: eggs, bacon, cereal – well-stocked fridge and freezer provide everything one needs for a good meal. The crew orders its groceries through the main office. Occasionally, the order and the goods delivered don’t exactly match. This morning, the seaman was happy to point out that they forgot to order the monkey with the bananas – instead of five bananas they had ordered, the delivery truck brought a crate of five pounds of bananas.
