![]() I spent the morning on Kingston Peninsula hoping to make some photos on Kingston Farmers Market for Saltscapes. Unfortunately, it is very early in the season so there were few vendors and even fewer customers. While I will certainly have to go back sometimes in June, the little road trip was a lot of fun. At the market I met Mark and Damien selling fiddleheads. Mark is a geologist who has traveled around the world. In his spare time and now he has a lot of it, he builds canoes and harvests fiddleheads. He is also a committed ecologist. Damien is a student from France who is taking some time off to travel. He ran into Mark and is now helping him harvest and sell fiddleheads along the New Brunswick rivers. On the way back, I decided to cross the peninsula and take the ferry across the Saint John River to Grand-Bay. It was a bit of a drive, but this is a pretty, rural country and stopped a few times to take a few photos. During the drive, I listened to a fantastic CBC radio show GO which was asking Canadians to select seven greatest guitar solos of all times. The Canadians have spoken and this is the magnificent seven: 7. Like a Hurricane: Neil Young I have nothing against the list, but I was disappointed not to see Garry Moore and his excellent Still Got the Blues or, my favourite, Parisienne Walkways in the top seven. | |
