![]() This is the interior of Kingston Farmers Market shot with LC1 at 400 ISO. As you can see, it’s quite noisy. It does not look good in colour, but it looks quite nice in black and white. I really don’t have a problem with it. After about 250 frames I quite like the LC1. It handles very well. The lens is fantastic and it goes a long way in compensating for lack of higher and cleaner ISO setting. There is a terrible lag between the shots when shooting in RAW mode, but, because of the kind of work I do, that doesn’t bother me too much either. In .jpg mode the camera works beautifully. The auto-focus can be painfully slow, but the camera is so easy to focus manually that even that is not too much of an issue. The electronic viewfinder is a story in itself. As a framing tool, it works alright. Focusing can be a bit difficult. The camera gives you an option to enlarge the middle of the image to assist the focusing, which is just too weird. You can also set it so that the entire viewfinder area becomes enlarged and I actually quite like that feature. The LCD screen is fantastic compared to anything else I’ve seen, but I find it difficult to compose using the LCD. I prefer when my camera moves with my eye, rather than with my hand – if you know what I mean. So, overall I am happy with the camera. It’s been really a painless transition to digital and I already see it as another useful tool in my bag. | |
