![]() Saturday was a Bash the Trash day in South End. Every year, the community gets together to clean the streets for a few hours. This year, it was really good to see that there was significantly less garbage on the streets than in previous years. Hopefully, as more people get involved, the cleaner the neighbourhood will be. In this photograph, a friend is carrying a garbage bag full of trash to the collection point at Queen’s Square while pushing his youngest son in the stroller. I have a couple of photography links for you. Wilfredo is a photographer based in California whom I ‘met’ thanks to Leica Forum. He provided some thoughtful comments and a bit of encouragement, first regarding the weather and then photography. Leica Forum has a wealth of information on photography-related subjects, but you have to dig and search for the good stuff. Some threads are much nicer and congenial than others. I just thought I should give you that bit of warning. Anyways, the point of this whole thing is that Wilfredo suggested the work of Les Stone as an inspiration to photojournalists everywhere. Enjoy. | |
