![]() These were hectic couple of weeks. Good photographically though because I have four projects on the go. I have a publisher for two and the other two shouldn’t be a hard sell. There is other good news. My significant other is now officially a published author. Her book of short biographical fiction Rebel Women of the East Coast is printed and it will be officially launched in Halifax later in September. I finished a small corporate job for University of New Brunswick in Saint John. Susan, I have a whole different appreciation for people doing event photography. Also, Saltscapes magazine ran one of my photos in their September/October issues. It’s the one from the Saint John Market. In the previous post I linked to a story about the new war photographer action figure. Well here is un ‘update’ on that story. I am glad somebody had fun with it. Also check out Paul Fusco’s Magnum In Motion feature Bitter Fruit. Turn on your speakers and listen to his voice. Here is an excellent feature from NPR on a Syrian photographer who has been documenting life in Syria despite his government’s attempts to stop him from doing so. And if you are into documentary photography, check out the work of Milton Rogovin and Alexey Tikhonov. A few notes on today’s photo. It was taken at Reggie’s a small restaurant in Saint John city centre. I am confident that the place hasn’t change its menu for last 40 years. Reggie’s is one of those places where locals go to gossip over a plate of bacon and eggs, hash browns and flat sausage. I am going to do a small feature on this place and I am trying to decide weather to make it colour or black and white. I am not much of a colour photographer, but this one somehow calls for colour. I also think I am going to make this my very first all digital project. I haven’t decided yet. Any comments and suggestions are more than welcome. Note:This is somewhat colour corrected image compared to the one originally posted. | |
