Friendly Convenience Store is a South End meeting place, a check point of sorts right at the corner of Duke and Charlotte. Its uniqueness comes from one of the very last lunch counters in town. If you are looking for a piece of deep fried chicken, potato wedges and soft ice cream that you can enjoy while sitting on a light blue stool from 50s, this is a place to go.

Conrad Nadeau runs the kitchen. Barb, the store owner comments that he knows the locals’ food preferences so well that most of the time he can start cooking before they even order.
